In February, the 1950s Park Forest House Museum has a Valentines Day theme.  See our Exhibit Poster,

The classroom is decorated for a 1950s Valentines Day party with vintage valentines and crepe paper candy baskets, and construction paper heart-shaped valentine "mailboxes" on each desk. Red honeycomb, puffy hearts are hung around the room. Vintage valentines are on display throughout the house.

A visit to the museum in February offers a bright, cheerful break from the gray days of winter.  We have free street parking right out front!

A guide will tell you the early history of Park Forest, and you can explore this original rental unit, built in 1948-49. It is furnished as it might have been from 1948-1953, with toys, children's books, dolls and dollhouses on display. The classroom represents Forest Boulevard School, the first school set up in the rental units.

The museum, located at 141 Forest Blvd, is open Wednesday and Saturday 10:30 to 3:30; or by appointment.  To schedule an appointment, call Mike Gans at 708-305-3308, or email or Director, Jane Nicoll, here.
